the logs that were automatically attached do not hold much information to help you debug the issue at the moment.
If I translate the error correctly it is complaining about missing stdin/out - not entirely sure thou. If anything it might depend on the tool that you use to trigger that update, but as I said without more details one can't be sure. Might I ask via what tool you usually run your updates?
To check in detail and get more info - could you open up a console/terminal and run the following command - and then report back the full output that you had in that console?
$ sudo apt get update && sudo apt-get install ntpdate
