I'm using Samba with winbind to connect to Active Directory as a slave server. I guess that's why it wants to read the syncronized time. My Samba setup:
netbios name = <servername>
workgroup = <domain>
realm = <domain.local?
server string = %h
security = ads
encrypt passwords = yes
password server = <ad-ip1> <ad-ip2>
