Unfortunately, we won't be able to invest in developing a libindicate panel
item for Xubuntu Jaunty, nor allocate the necessary testing needed to
hapilly switch to notify-osd this late in the cycle, due to our limited man
power and major changes required for our move to Xfce 4.6 from 4.4. However,
I imagine the Xubuntu team and upstream Xfce developers will be very
interested in further examining notify-osd at UDS Karmic for possible
inclusion early in the karmic release cycle.
Naturally, we're eager to see if notify-osd finally irons out some of the
longstanding memory leak issues that have historically plagued the original
notification-daemon.
