Comment 7 for bug 1023588

After further research, I've determined that the extra notify-osd is produced by the package xfce4-volumed - uninstalling it removes the extra one. The problem is though it manages the media keys on the laptop, so I'd like to keep it. I'm going to file a bug on Xfce's upstream.
