What version of Ubuntu are you using, and what version of nfs-common is installed? Does /var/log/upstart/statd.log exist? If so, what are its contents (note: only readable as root)? Do you have a /var/log/upstart/statd-mounting-_var_www_theatrepeople_docs.log?
This has nothing to do with rpcbind; reassigning.
