No, this should have been fixed in the 12.04 release. If it's not, please file your own bug report (unless you're Chris), and make sure to add all the relevant information, including the file /var/log/syslog and the contents of /etc/network/interfaces.

Chris, if you're still seeing this, please use 'apport-collect 516592' to add debugging data to this bug report.
