Everyone subscribed to this bug and running feisty ...

can you please try to build the gutsy wireless tools package under
feisty and see if your issues go away? You might need to build
network-manager as well once you updated your wireless tools.

... the problem here still is that there are lots of people claiming
different things ... so lets get this tracked down by testing first.
