Can confirm this for the network-manager 0.6.5-0ubuntu7 version (7.10 Gutsy / Kubuntu), using a Netgear PCMCIA adapter with Atheros 5212 chipset.

What I don't get is, that using the laptops build in Intel 2915abg wifi adapter seem to work with network-manager without any playing around. Should i mention that I completely disabled this adapter in BIOS, working with the Netgear adapter.
