Yes, i'm having this trouble too...
When USEPEERDNS is ticked, /etc/resolv.conf is populated with DNS servers provided by DHCP server on network that i'm connecting via VPN to.
When USEPEERDNS is NOT ticked, /etc/resolv.conf gets wiped out rather than just leaving them intact.
