The resolvconf package has always worked as expected for me in Ubuntu.
Scott, surely one interface to modify resolv.conf is better than lots of packages separately parsing it and modifying it? Plus you get scriptable events generated on changes, and some other freebies.
The package has been around for a while and works well. I'd like to see it used by NetworkManager's VPN support. Are there any technical reasons *not* to use the package, beyond your bad experiences with it?
