Comment 14 for bug 357578

I'm having the same problem since 8.10. Also after a fresh install of Jaunty the problem persists.
As mentioned above, after shutting down manually, sometimes, because my machine hangs-up before
shutting down or rebooting, there is no sound upon restart. It could be fixed with alsamixer and then
increasing the volume on the PCM channel.
There is no clean shutting down, or reboot, you new to press the power button 5 sec.
Is this problem related with acer-acpi?
Acer 7520-5656 amd athlon X2 nvidia 7000M, atheros wifi,
