You must have more than one VPN configured in Network-Manager.

Left-mouse click on the Network-Manager icon (either the bars for wireless or computer screen for wired). Go down to VPNs and choose one that you have configured. Allow it to connect.

Once established, attempt to start another VPN. You can't because they are all grayed out.

Windows allows you to do this.

VPNs to different subnets should be allowed.
