Please advise as to whether you are still experiencing this issue. Additionally, please note that having wlan0 in /etc/network/interfaces with both "auto wlan0" and "iface wlan0" lines will disable NetworkManager from managing that device; if you want NetworkManager to handle that wireless device, please remove the lines "auto wlan0" and anything that goes with the "iface wlan0" line.
