Bug Description

Using wired network cable N.M stills works.
When unplugging the cable, N.M try to connect to Wireless access point,
CPU rates to 100% . The only thing I could do was to kill NetworkManager Process

This problem appears when upgrading to network-manager_0.6.6-0ubuntu2_i386.deb
I downgraded to network-manager_0.6.6-0ubuntu1_i386.deb and now It works ...

I had broadcom wifi chipset ( using driver b43 )

my wifi is atheros ar5007 (242x) befor 8.04 beta release (19.03.08) there was no problem to connect to wifi ap with WPA(WPA2) TKIP AES encryption or without encryption. yesterday i've notised that i cannot, and knetworkmanager or gnome network-manager hangs after the password request. i've tought that the problem was madwifi drivers and reinstalled ubuntu with pure beta release, but still i cannot connect.

I confirm this. This update is the reason: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/hardy-changes/2008-March/009365.html
The CPU usage is 100% and it never connects. I'm using WPA and have Intel 4965AGN WiFi. It was working fine before this update.

Confirming this on Dell Inspiron 1520, Broadcom wireless with Hardy and all updates to date (2008-03-23).

When attempting to connect to a WPA wireless network for the first time (and possibly subsequent times - not tested), it prompts for shared key, after key is entered, NetworkManager hangs with 100% CPU, nm-applet spins forever (or at least 6 minutes).

Downgrading to network-manager_0.6.6-0ubuntu1_i386.deb fixes this problem.

network-manager_0.6.6-0ubuntu1_i386.deb is available from:

Perhaps bug #4564509 is a duplicate of this bug?

Correction - I confused an ubuntuforums post with launchpad bugs. bug #4564509 does not exist at this date, there is no duplication, sorry for the confusion.

Bug still stands.
