If you have your network configured in /etc/network/interfaces, you
could try to set NM to managed=true in
/etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf

However, we will try to fix the online state for managed=false too.

Maybe post your /etc/network/interfaces so i can check that you would
get fixed by that.
