I have the same problem on two independent systems with Ubuntu 15.04. 32bit and 64bit

The NetworkManager.service dies after switching from WLAN to Wired Lan, with the following message:

NetworkManager.service - Network Manager
   Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/NetworkManager.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
   Active: failed (Result: signal) since Mo 2015-09-21 21:15:19 CEST; 17min ago

My solution:
restart the service with: systemctl restart NetworkManager
