Good news!
I've discovered a workaround that persist reboot:
1) sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf 2) Add this line: blacklist asus-nb-wmi 3) Save your edit.
After performing these steps, I rebooted the laptop, logged in, and it connected via wi-fi automatically!
