If I configure /etc/resolv.conf to be symlinked to ../run/systemd/resolve/stub-resolv.conf, the bug remains nearly the same. The original report changes insofar as new nameservers don't get added to /etc/resolv.conf, however, the do not show up in the output of "resolvectl dns" either, and the search domain for the root zone remains with the physical network interface rather than being switched to the tunnel interface. Unless there is a different bit of hidden configuration, it seems that even fresh installations of F33 would encounter the problem of non-resolving internal names.

I can configure DNS servers and search domain manually via nmcli; upon connection these are then added to the tunnel interface and resolving internal names works.
