I found a bug in how pptp assembles the name to authenticate from domain+username and uploaded a proposed fix for network-manager-pptp plugin to the intrepid network-manager PPA: http://launchpad.net/~network-manager/+archive

Please test. At least BUGabundo's issues should be fixed there.
