I have the same problem i Ubuntu 9.10

- NM fails setting up DLS connection via my ADSL modem (in Bribge mode), but
- manual setting-up via pppd pty 'pppoe -I eth10' user x password y works!

The log of failed NM is similar to #7 attached.

By me looks this like that: see NetworkManager-DSL-fail.txt

I have suspicion, that NM is trying to "replace" the eth10 with ppp0. But NM need (I don't know WHY) to have the eth10 configured, also he try to configure eth10 up again, ...

I have also try to connect the modem via :
1/ another eth iface (NM managed, but with IP manual) - the same problem
2/ --||-- (unmanaged - also set-uped manually via "ifup" - in this case NM do not allow/show DSL connection at all. ?!?!
