JMX services are also affected by the incorrect response provided by 'hostname -i'.
This seems to be more a DHCP problem than anything else.
Once a valid DHCP lease is obtained, the /etc/hosts file should have a proper configuration set.
This is the root of all evil :)

PS.: The issue is still present on Gutsy.
