My boot times had been really following some Oneric updates last week. Today I saw the "Waiting for network configuration..." message, and found this bug. I looked in my /etc/network/interfaces and found an "auto ppp0" line. This is really strange, because I have never even used the modem on this laptop. Also this was an upgrade to Oneric, not a fresh install.
