In work I am normally hooked up to a monitor. When I reboot and the monitor is attached, all is good.
At home I am not hooked up to a monitor, therefore I get the display error. I expect this display error as I got it prior to upgrading to 11.10, but in Ubuntu (3d) mode it causes the file explorer to revert to some basic graphics mode and the desktop icons are blank.
