Bug Description

I would expect my item selection to move to the next item row when I'm on the right end of a row and I hit the right key. However, it just sits there and does nothing, so in order to go from 006.jpg to 007.jpg I need to hit down + left + left, which is unpractical and burdensome.

Please save effort to the user and implement this feature.

I might be wrong, but this issue can be somehow associated with 7-years-old bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43285

I know it's a minor thing, but:
Is there any chance of solving this issue before Hardy Final Freeze?

A fix was committed for this in what is due to become Nautilus 2.24, to be included in Ibex. I think the patch mostly stands for itself so it might be able to be backported to Hardy if someone's interested in giving it a shot, however it does adds significant complexity for a stable release and it still needs to be UI reviewed (I'm not particularly sure I like the result of going "up" at the top of a container...)

After reading the comments in the Gnome Bugzilla: I tired out the on-screen keyboard from the accessibility options a few days ago, but since then it's switched off, and the machine has booted since then with the on-screen keyboard off. I hope it helps in finding what is the cause of this unexpected behaviour.

Same here, Oneiric x64, Gnome Shell and no more wrapping in nautilus.
I have to confess, i disabled the on-screen keyboard too, but i don't this regression is related to this.
