Do you get the issue every time for any file on any server or is that specific?

Sebastien:

* The bug always happens when copying files or directories, by either drarg-and-drop, or Copy/Paste;
* The bug is present with both an existing user profile, and a new user;
* The bug is present when copying from an Ubuntu 8.10 and 8.04 server;
* The bug happens for files of different sizes and types, and directories;
* After multiple file operation the "progress" window shows multiple progress bars, one for each file operation. None of them closes after the operation completes;
* The bug is not present when copying TO a remote server;
* The bug happens when copying to both the Desktop, and other dirs.

I open a remote SSH location using the "Connect to server" dialogue, or using an existing bookmark; then I drag a file/directory to the local desktop or another directory. The file is copied OK, but the "file operations" window remains open.

I got a similar "stuck" window when dragging a web page "favicon" from the Epiphany location bar to the desktop. Normally this would create a shortcut to that web page. The attached screen shot is the result I got now. The shortcut was not created.

I tried reproducing, but it worked afterwards, and the previous window disappeared too.

For forwarding instructions please have a look to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME ; Thanks in advance!.

I've got exactly the same bug with the latest 10.04. Any file or folder copy process leaves the "File Operations" dialog open until logoff/logon or reboot.

I am currently having this issue. I am running 10.04 with all current updates on a Dell Inspiron 1721 (AMD) laptop. When I try and copy/move files/folders in nautilus, it transfers the files, but with no dialog. Nautilus eventually freezes up and has to force closed. Doesn't matter what I try and do, the issue happens no matter what is reproducible every time.

If the fix was released in 2009, why is still an issue in 2011/2012 on Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid)?
