Hi there!

I'm just wondering (very politely) if there has been any progress on this?

It is still occuring under Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Alpha 6 and Nautilus 1:2.28.0-0ubuntu2. Interestingly when run as root/super user, the drive order is "correct".

I think that fixing this bug would benefit the usability and aesthetics of Ubuntu and nautilus/any other *nix distributions that use it.

Additionally, if the nautilus team wanted to add extra features and at the same time fix the bug, they could have an option to sort by something like:

* Alphabetical (A-Z)
* Reverse Alphabetical (Z-A)
* UUID
* Volume Size (Increasing)
* Volume Size (Decreasing)

... etc

Please see attachment (where menthurae/left side shows non-alphabetical drive order and root/right side shows alphabetical drive order).
