Gnome files app: when right clicking on an inserted USB drive format does nothing

Bug Description

1.insert a usb drive
2.launch the GNOME files app/nautilus
3.select and right click usb drive
4.select and click the format option from the pop up menu
5.format does nothing, the format disk dialog is not displayed

this occurs on the latest Ubuntu 20.04 version; All packages are also up to date but the bug still occurs
