A add a screenshot this test case: I run LAMPP on this computer and it is installed in /opt/lampp. The standard installation makes it belonging to root user. The subfolder "htdocs" belongs to my user and in htdocs folder I have multiple folders, that also belong to my user (florin).

cd /opt/lampp
ls -al
drwxrwxr-x 33 florin florin 4096 Jun 11 15:27 htdocs

cd htdocs
ls -al
drwxrwxr-x 33 florin florin 4096 Jun 11 15:27 .
drwxr-xr-x 18 root root 4096 Apr 27 20:53 ..
drwxrwxr-x 2 florin florin 4096 Jun 11 15:32 Untitled Folder

So, if I delete the Untitled Folder, I cannot use the Trash, although it belongs to my user (the '..' of the parent folder belongs to root).

See the delete dialog: 'Cannot move file to trash, do you want to delete immediately? - The file "Untitled Folder" cannot be moved to the trash.'
