I agree....and it is definitely annoying.

It works fine on my local drives...and If I go to the terminal and actually mount the network shares, it works as well.

But if I use the "Connect to Server", the sendto menu item is not present in the menu when I am browsing.
And it's not just samba shares...I have some ssh shares as well.

I'm guessing that the sendto command can't handle interacting with GVFS.
