Tried in fresh Ubuntu 14.04.5 install, and works fine:

Trigger für update-notifier-common (0.154.1ubuntu2) werden verarbeitet ...
ttf-mscorefonts-installer: downloading http://downloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/andale32.exe
ttf-mscorefonts-installer: downloading http://downloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/arial32.exe
ttf-mscorefonts-installer: downloading http://downloads.sourceforge.net/corefonts/arialb32.exe

...

All done, no errors.
All fonts downloaded and installed.

So the problem is located somewhere else?
