SteveRiley here... I directed our forum user to post this bug. Here's the output of the attempt to install ttf-mscorefonts-installer:

I've confirmed the user has Internet access, so we're stumped as to why the Python script appears to error out when attempting to connect to the network (as indicated by the IOError).
