Well, I can tell you that in 10.04 KUbuntu there is no way in God's green
earth for MountManager to do this. See attached image.

See the column along the left hand side. See the bottom where you see icons
for drive_d and FreeDos. Those are the actual partition labels.

In 9.10 you did not get icons along the left, but were given actual entries
under Root. See image 2 to see what appears under root now...nothing.

I don't wish to sound snitty, but please quick hurling stuff against the wall
and hoping for something to stick. If you want to fix the problem in 9.10 then
fix it, otherwise, the drive mapping has so completely changed in 10.04 LTS
that the only way to change the "mount point" is to change the partition label
and reboot.
