Bug Description

Binary package hint: mono

The Networked Media Tank (NMT) platform is a set top box running linux. To help install new programs on the box there is a program called the Community Software Installer (CSI) which is crossplatform, requiring mono and libmono-winforms... which seems to be satisfied by libmono-winforms2.0-cil on Ubuntu.

Everything worked fine until around two weeks ago when, after daily update of Karmic, all label text disappeared. Now text in value-type boxes continues as usual, but everything from the menu bar to the labels on buttons is blank.

I don't see any errors written to the terminal, so I have no idea how to debug. Also, I don't see text disappearing anywhere else in Ubuntu.

Info about CSI can be found here: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/index.php/Community_Software_Installer/win
The download page isn't working at this moment, but I can send someone a copy if they want to investigate.

I am also seeing this issue with KeePass. I have no experience with KeePass on Linux prior to Ubuntu 9.10 RC, so I can't say when the problem started.

Running KeePass with mono, I get no errors, but there is no text (at all) displayed in the application. (Haven't tried adding a new entry to see if value-type boxes will display text).

I have the MS core fonts installed (via ttf-mscorefonts-installer). I've also installed winforms: libmono-winforms2.0-cil. I've tried installing several other mono packages, but nothing has corrected the issue.

I'll be happy to provide more information if requested.

Same Problem here with " mono 2.4.2.3 " inside " Ubunu Karmic " using Applilcation " Keepass 2.09 ".
Everything worked fine in Jaunty before updating to Karmic.

I'm reassigning this bug to the Xorg folks, who can decide whether the apparent bug warrants a driver SRU for Intel users

Hi volkris,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you're using a custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
