My floppy drive is not available. I use a Sony laptop PCG-FX503
Here is an extract from my Message Log:
Jan 30 09:20:34 victor-laptop kernel: [ 42.580933] cs: IO port probe 0xa00-0xaff: clean.
Jan 30 09:20:34 victor-laptop kernel: [ 44.659622] Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M
Jan 30 09:20:34 victor-laptop kernel: [ 44.659644] floppy0: Unable to grab IRQ6 for the floppy driver
Jan 30 09:20:34 victor-laptop kernel: [ 44.703769] lp0: using parport0 (interrupt-driven).
I update every day. The latest version was Ubuntu Linux 2.6.27-11.27
It appears that my computer knows I have a floppy drive but needs to grab IRQ6 and it appears that something else has grabbed it first. The other comments on this bug do not mention this.
