So far the X errors are:
1. Local: The X11 connection broke: I/O error (code 1) X connection to :0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown). --> kwin killed
2. Local: The X11 connection broke: I/O error (code 1) XIO: fatal IO error 0 (Success) on X server ":0" --> kwin killed
3. Remote: The X11 connection broke: I/O error (code 1) XIO: fatal IO error 22 (Invalid argument) on X server ":0" after 6963214 requests (6963214 known processed) with 0 events remaining. --> kwin killed
I will keep updating the list.
Note: It looks like the hung case is much rarer. Maybe it happens when the plasmashell is busted and it is actually a different bug. When kwin dies user input are dying too so I can't be really sure that plasmashell is actually alive before I restart kwin.
Maybe all 3 above are different bugs. I certainly hope that this isn't the case though because it looks terribly difficult to diagnose this without a backtrace let alone 3 of them.
