Inside there is a folder called dat
In there are folders a, d, i, and m.
In Ubuntu, /usr/share/games/meritous
Has the folders a, d, and i...
m is missing.
Even copying the m folder contents to usr/share/games/meritous/m/
Does not provide music.
Looking at the source code from the homepage, (audio.c) it looks for things in relative path dat/
So I'm guessing whoever packaged the tarball for ubuntu modified it to point to usr/share/games/meritous for sound effects and everything else but omitted the music? (This is just a guess though.)
Workaround:
Long story short, extract tarball:
cd meritous_v12_src
make
./meritous
Enjoy the tracked music goodness in-game.
P.S. If you use audacious or have the right plugins for gstreamer, you can listen to it whenever...
