Bug Description

Binary package hint: mahara

This is what you get when loading the main Mahara page:

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php' (include_path='/usr/share/mahara/lib/:/usr/share/mahara/lib/pear/:.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in /usr/share/mahara/lib/web.php on line 31

The reason for this is the include path for smarty which expects the Debian install path (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/smarty/+bug/118793).

This breaks Mahara completely, there is no way to use it without applying this patch.
