Thanks for taking the time to report this bug in Ubuntu & MAAS.

Cobbler is currently being removed from MaaS for 12.10 (with a possible backport for 12.04).

As a result I'm going to make this as a 'Won't Fix' - as this will be resolved when cobbler is removed from MaaS; this should leave the bug around so if other people hit this issue in the meantime they can get some general guidance on how to resolve.
