On may laptop, I do an sulogin by pressing 'M' when I get the notice about a FS not being mounted due to the BOREDOM_TIMEOUT.
I login (I have set the root password BTW), do an ls on /dev/<LVM_volume_name>. Symlinks for the LVs are there, and lvscan says the volumes are activated. This is on kernel.org kernel 2.6.33.2.
A 'mount -a' mounts everything, I 'exit' sulogin shell, and full boot then proceeds with no more problems.
