I have this problem also.

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Release: 22.04

$ apt-cache policy firefox
firefox:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 1:1snap1-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
     1:1snap1-0ubuntu2 500
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/main amd64 Packages

I am using the Cinnamon desktop. If I switch to the Gnome desktop the problem does not arise.
