Bug Description

The bar that normally runs along the bottom of the screen, the menu button, and the desktop background I had set all vanished when the computer ran out of battery mid-use. Synapse still works, which is how I'm sending you this, but I can't seem to find a way to get the aforementioned things back. Also, if I try to change the desktop background with the tools currently available to me (right-clicking on the desktop, specifically) and do everything I should, it doesn't change. If I log out and choose the lubuntu netbook desktop, then the user interface is fine. If I log out and choose the OpenBox desktop environment, it's the same as the lubuntu desktop environment - compromised. I am not sure what to do, so I am going to just reinstall soon.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and though it could have been converted to a question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you are facing, but it is better to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

With a forced-shutdown (ie. power dies) it's common to need a `fsck` (file-system check) which I usually perform using 'live' media (eg. Ubuntu/Lubuntu install media), then on reboot usually everything is back to normal. You would have likely got this advise quickly if you'd asked a question, instead of reporting it as a bug. I'm marking it invalid due to age today.
