Please Upgrade to 2.1 - the current version at time of writing this - I need the improved support for inline assembly.

Sorry to be another person who complains, but 1.4 is ridiculously old; debian sid has 2.2 now.

Sorry to post again, the reason I saidllvm was old is that llvmg++ is unable to compile even this:

 #include<iostream>
 int main(int argc, char** argv){std::cerr<<"Hello world!"<<std::endl;}

since it encounters undefined __extern_inline in syslib.h and other headers (on amd64 current hardy)

At this time you will have to file a feature freeze exception to get it into hardy.

well, the bug was filed some 6 weeks ago, and to be quite frank, you existing llvm-gcc can't actually compile relatively simple applications because it dies on the standard system headers.

Please upgrade or remove - either way the current package is useless.

/me wonders if it's time to put debians version in a ppa ...

Yagisan, I just discovered sid's versions don't have llvm-cfe packages (compiled their llvm source package), so it is quite useless anyway - it misses the c/c++ frontend (it does have llvmc, which is at this stage useless as well), which is in recommended but unavailable package llvm-cfe.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I'll be building form source and installing to either /usr/local or /opt

Yes, if you do follow our documented procedures.
