Bug Description

I'm in the process of updating https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UEFI/SecureBoot/PXE-IPv6 and one of the files mentioned there that is useful to publish to your netboot root directory is /usr/share/grub/unicode.pf2 to provide an experience matching that you get when booting from a local device.

Maybe we should include this font file in the netboot tarball we now provide? (and include a grub.cfg that loads it?)

I checked and it doesn't appear to be part of the signed grub efi image.

The relevant bits of the grub.cfg there:

if loadfont unicode ; then
  set gfxmode=auto
  set locale_dir=$prefix/locale
  set lang=en_US

Where should it go in the tarball?

grub loads it from the same directory as grub.cfg.

grub on UEFI includes the unicode font in the signed image and does not load external fonts anymore, so this would only affect BIOS boot.
