I agree with Joris V. they are starting to loose there reason for existence.
Please don't try to be what you despised in the first place!
Sadly I guess closing bug 1 unfortunately does reflect this new strategy...
But on the brighter side of things.
After investigating going to Debian I noticed after a couple of updates in the 13.10 beta, using the nVidia 325.15 driver, I haven't encountered this issues in a couple weeks now! Being cautiously optimistic! :)
