Xan, the behavior quickly reverted, so now if I reboot when the temperature
is elevated, the fan will come on and run continually. I monitor the temp,
and can control the processor speed with this program:
eee-control-tray is a utility for controlling Eee PC hardware, hotkeys and
more through eee-control-daemon.
Netbook Model: ASUSTeK Computer INC. AUTODETECT
eee-control-daemon version: 0.9.6
which can be found at: http://launchpad.net/eee-control/
I don't know how else to assist. I think that there are developers that
are aware of this problem.
I hope this helps.
