something lost:
because on ubuntu 11.10 kernel 3.0.0-18-generic, the command "ubuntu-bug chromium-browser" didn't work,
so I report the bug on ubuntu 11.10 kernel 3.0.0-17-generic.

I'm also experiencing this after updating to 3.0.0-18-generic.

Both quit either immediately or soon after launch with seg fault.

Occurred after auto-update to Linux 3.0.0-18-generic

Finding this too, in fact it's across the board; Chrome and Firefox segfault immediately, epiphany at random intervals, movie player intermittently either at start or a minute or two into a video, other apps too. Can't get any app to provide more information than "Segmentation fault" so struggle to debug. General Protection Faults in dmesg. Rolling back to 3.0.0-17 fixed immediately.

I have build a test kernel that we would like you to test if possible. The only addition commit on this test kernel is 93dc6107a76daed81c07f50215fa6ae77691634f "Don't limit non-nested epoll paths".

Could you please check if it solves the issues you're having and report back? You can get this kernel here:

Same as Mark Hewitt on #7.
Sadly, Luis Henriques (henrix) solution on #8 doesn't work.

For me 3.0.0-18-generic causes segfault to Chrome, but also Firefox ans Skype crashes during a call.

I have to add that with the new kernel, Firefox crashes very often, e.g. when restoring an hibernated computer.
On the other side, Chromium is unusable, it crashes at startup.
