Tested with 3.0.0-19.32 as suggested.
The results are exactly the same as above with 3.3.0-999-generic_3.3.0-999.201203210406_i386.deb.
So,
1. Looks like it is fixed in 19.32
2. From what you say, nomodeset shouldn't be used anyway with this device.
