I ran into the same bug one year ago and discussed it there:

Setting the Jumpers to 5VSB helped me but this can't be the final solution because not everyone has a powerful power-supply to let external hard-drives work on 5VSB line.

So fpgahardwareengineer you are wrong if you think that ASUS mainboards with VIA Technologies UHCI chipsets would be not impacted.
