interesting with ubuntu kernel 3.2.0-17 and i915_enable_rc6=1 (powertop tunables & screen at lowest) I can get 5.3 W drain on idle when I switch to a compiled vanila kernel 3.3-rc4 with rc6 patch (http://people.canonical.com/~ogasawara/eugeni/rc6/0001-drm-i915-allow-to-select-rc6-modes-via-kernel-parame.patch) best I can do at idle is 8.5 W drain.
I am testing 3.3-rc4 with Eugeni's first test patch to and setting rc6=1 . So far no shutdowns .
