Comment 74 for bug 935778

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem on my Toshiba Satellite R830.

This is with a fully up-to-date Opensuse 12.3.

The solution in comment 5 restores the brightness but the function keys still don't work (well they do show the "on-screen brightness display" changing but with no effect on the actual brightness).

Using (as root)
echo 4539 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness

restores my screen to its full brightness and passing different lower values dims the screen.

Is there anything that we can check to figure out what causes this to stop working after a suspend?
